Written by local writer, John O’Hanlon, “The Calling” brings to life one of his most important works. The second in a series of monologues the Louth Filmmakers Society are producing; John came into the society with this piece in hand and we were very excited to take it on.

The Calling is filled with a respect for the harsh yet beautiful aspects of nature and how that impacts our lives at the state of the planet. The poem itself, which is read out by the protagonist of the piece, takes you on a journey of nature. It describes young cubs being taken care of by their mothers to eagles hunting lambs, from whispering breezes to great storms, and throughout, humanities place in all this.
